Secretary General | Tascha Shahriari-Parsa

After attending a diverse and ample plethora of conferences as a participant and as an organizer, Tascha is overjoyed to serve as the Secretary General of Canada International Model United Nations 2013. Undoubtedly, he has placed this above all priorities, as he tends to sacrifice every iota of time he has (or does not have) to make CAIMUN a memorable conference. Having so far lived a life with creativity stemming through his shoulders, he fell right into the legacy of CAIMUN and innovation, and strives to inspire youth to elevate society to its optimum. Aside from MUN, he enjoys learning about everything, ruminating on the nature of our existence, arguing with people (also known as ‘debating’), playing or composing music, and trying to do his part to make the world around him a bit more sustainable. With his indissoluble ebullience to politics, global issues, and the progress of humanity, he strives to elevate CAIMUN to become the infallible paragon of a Model UN conference.

Eric likes to live in a personal bubble of bliss; as a first year student currently attending the University of British Columbia in the faculty of arts, his dreams have yet to be crushed. Eric is excited to be a member of the secretariat for CAIMUN 2013 now that his high school MUN career of 3 years has elapsed. When Eric is not distracted by a nearby flower, or the permanently affixed rose colour lenses that he sees life through, he can be found playing guitar, singing, hanging out with friends and playing table top role playing games such as dungeons and dragons. Eric looks forward to helping each and every delegate that comes to CAIMUN find something unique to love about the conference.

Besides that, he founded his school’s Debate Team and Politics Club, serves as his riding’s Policy Chair for the Liberal Party of Canada, sings bass in his school’s choir and vocal jazz groups, and participates in several other miscellaneous activities. In his (precious little) spare time, he listens to musicals, reads books on every topic under the sun, and, of course, has arguments with his friends. Liam is looking forward to helping make CAIMUN’s quest for innovation, fun, and education a reality!
