Our Mission Statement
Canadian International Model United Nations started off as a simple idea – an idea to provide delegates with a unique Model United Nations experience, ripe with diplomacy and innovation, through the truest depiction of the workings of the United Nations. We are proud to welcome you to an experience that juxtaposes fervent on-your-feet thinking with meticulous preparation; early morning business coffee runs with late night dancing; and students from all over the world. We, the secretariats of CAIMUN 2013, have woven innovation into every aspect of this conference: new styles of debate, unique joint-crises, the intrepid CAI-Forum, an extraordinary IPC system, the addition of NGOs, and our renowned reality-reflective position paper policy. Here at CAIMUN, there are boundless opportunities for ingenuity. We have set out to challenge those attending – be it a first time or veteran delegate – through a demand for critical thinking skills and diplomacy, stimulating more innovative debates and showing delegates the essence of global politics with its alluring perplexity and spellbinding mystique.
We can confidently say that CAIMUN 2013 is truly an international conference, with delegates attending from all over the world, allowing ideas to be shared both inside and outside the committee rooms. Ultimately, we want everyone involved to appreciate the colossal challenge of solving some of the most complex and pressing issues our world has ever faced. Delegates of different cultures and world views can come together and use CAIMUN as a channel for understanding the complexity of the world itself. CAIMUN 2013 is truly about more than just what happens in the committee sessions – it is about one day applying the skills gained to the real world.
This is CAIMUN: ex visu ad verum – bringing visions into reality.
