Welcome to CAIMUN 2013!
Dear Delegates, Schools, Teachers, and Parents,
As the Secretary General of Canada International Model United Nations (CAIMUN) 2013, I would like to invite and welcome you to our second annual conference, taking place May 24-26 in Richmond, Greater Vancouver, Canada at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel. Last year, CAIMUN was home to over 400 participants, the most there has ever been for an inaugural Model UN conference in Western Canada.
Founded on the basis of ex visu ad virum: bringing visions into reality, CAIMUN is continuing to innovate at levels unprecedented within the global MUN realm. Last year, CAIMUN introduced a position paper policy that brought critical thinking to replace the stagnant lackluster researching routine. CAIMUN experimented with a novel debate procedure that inherently made deliberations more efficient. CAIMUN became a conference renowned for its integrity, passion, and conviction – with creativity present in every shape and form. This year, with the hard work of our team of Secretariat, CAIMUN is growing and transforming to the next level, reaching heights that will astound all those who attend.
With all the fervour and innovation, CAIMUN has a goal. CAIMUN is being made for a reason: to educate youth; to provide youth with essential skills such as public speaking and diplomacy; to raise awareness about the issues that plague society; and most importantly, to inspire youth to make a positive difference in the world.
In conjunction with our influential IPC involvement system, NGO implementation, divided debates, joint-crises, press releases, diplomatic cables, wikileaks, CAI-Forum, carefully selected committees, and prodigious quality of staff, we can promise unimaginable levels of debate unmatched by any conference. In addition, CAIMUN is an international conference – cultures from around the globe will coalesce to exchange their wisdom and judgments on issues across the board, and connect to form networks of youth striving for global progress.
The virtues of Model UN extend beyond the conference. Three days spent at CAIMUN will be the most rewarding field trip one could ask for. Wherever you are from – be it Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, or North America – be part of our legacy and join an unforgettable experience. Challenge your mind, and most importantly, challenge your heart. This is CAIMUN 2013 – innovation on an international scale.
We hope to see you in May!
